JOYA: AiR, SPAIN RESIDENCY CURATION
ARGO, ATHENS RESIDENCY CURATION

Alongside her sculptural performance practice, Annie Edwards is a curator and educator whose work explores how exhibitions and residencies create meaningful encounters between artists, audiences, and place. Since graduating, her curatorial practice has expanded through the networks, collaborations, and international connections developed during and beyond her studies, enabling projects that support emerging artists and foster cross-cultural exchange.
Recent projects include Joya Flujo 07-08.26, a themed residency situated in the southern Spanish desert. The majority of artists selected for the programme subsequently secured funding to participate, which annie supported throughout. Works produced during the residency are due to be exhibited in Spain and across London, with further international presentations anticipated. Annie has also curated Show Garden 05.26 - an exhibition set in her own garden which took influence from the Chelsea flower show and sculpture gardens.
Annie Established her residency curation program by partnering with the RCA Sculpture course, collaborating with Argo, athens and Joya: AiR, Spain in 10.25. During the residencies, Annie hosts crits, museum and exhibition tours, hikes, meditation circles, workshops, studio visits to local artists, open studios, exhibitions, and public-facing events that foreground artistic process, dialogue, and exchange .
Alongside her curatorial work, Annie regularly collaborates with other curators as a performance artist, developing thematic and site-responsive interventions for private views and exhibition programmes. Using the body as both a sculptural and communicative tool, her performances respond directly to curatorial themes, activating spaces and creating new modes of audience engagement.
